Many of us delay beginning an essential task by deluding ourselves. We think we are in need of a big block of continuous time to make progress on essential projects. The effect is procrastination!
The ‘Swiss Cheese’ method is a good tool to beat the procrastination that results from wanting to schedule or realize that large block of the time. Basically, this method punches holes (like swiss cheese) inside a multi task or complex task. This helps the task move from daunting to your reasonable category with regards to execution. It contains three actions:
- Very first, it should be pertaining to an essential project, not a routine task.
- Second, almost all of the sub jobs should just take not as much as ten minutes to complete.
- Third, leading jobs should be used.
A quick instance to show this system. Assume you’re acutely busy whenever your supervisor alerts you the budget (essential task) is born in 1 week. Later that day you have 8 mins before a meeting. You take that point to duplicate last year’s spending plan. You simply performed a ‘leading task’, you began!
